There's an interesting post on the AQ-allied website, al-Ekhlaas.

It's addressed to English translators.

"Besides our fighters and commanders," it says, "we have our scholars, preachers, hackers, programmers, analysts, writers, audio/visual experts, uploaders and so on. But you, my dear brothers/sisters also play a major role in this battle and that is in the role of translations."

The post acknowledges sterling work being done getting the writings of "Scholars and Jihadi leaders" into English, as well as "the latest videos of the Mujaahideen."

However...

"The percentage of Jihadi magazines [my emphasis] translated into the English language is way below 5% ... this is not a good percentage."

Time to get to work.

"A detailed translation would be very nice to have, but a summary is also acceptable."

I am a police officer of 12 yrs. in the USA. I vote every local, state and federal ellection. I love CNN, and I muslim, Black born in USA.

The posting of this half story is a poor display of CNN journalism. I would expect more. And stop interviewing foreign born Muslims about Islam in the USA. Try showing the real Islam on America. Ophra did with my wife Mubarakah Ibrahim (Muslim Personal Trainer).

I am a retired Armed Forces Canadian and a Christian. I love CNN and many of my Uncles and Cousins live in the good old USA. I think this story is long enough to get the jist of the Islamic Fundamentalists idea to try to put their jihaddist mags in English. Don't bother Mr whoever you are jihaddist, every english Christian knows about the Christian/Jewish threat and we are awaiting any and all muslims who wish to give up their shameful ways and be baptised into our Christian churchs.

Walter, I am also a Canadian but I shudder at your comments.
Hasn't your bible taught you anything????
How about the commandments that tell you to do one to others as to do to thyself , or the one that tells you to keep your religion to yourself.

You are partially to blame for this conflict between the faiths because your attitute stinks of intolerance.

It is you who should give up your shamful way.

very well said Marksm.

@Walter:

I suggest you read what is in Quran ... half of it is full of messages of Prophets from Abraham to Noah, from Solomon to Jacob ... and from Moses to Jesus.

Unfortunately, against us muslims ... majority of non-muslims are not ready to open up their mind just because of the edited & half-cooked stories like this one, as Brotehr Abdussabur has correctly mentioned.

being a PR professional from last 7 years i can tell .. that Media has been used and will contine to be the biggest tool for brainwashing of people like you and make the likes of you into extremists & fndamentalists.

The only thing i might add to this conversation is that you are all following something that is apart from yourselves, something you had no part in creating, and that the only thing to be gained from any knowledge of God, is a knowledge of love and greater understanding of our relationships with each other in this world.

Free yourselves from thousands of years of conflict and embrace each other, either with swords or gifts. and realize the consequences of your actions, on an individual level, for we are all prisoners of our actions.

May the Force be with you.
